Speed skating and curling are just some of the sports being offered for free at Sheffield’s leading ice venue.
To celebrate the 2010 Winter Olympics, which kick off in Vancouver in February, iceSheffield is hosting free winter sport taster sessions.
Members of the public will also be able to have a go at figure skating, ice dance and ice hockey during the sessions, which will be available for the duration of the Winter Olympics.
Mandy Janes, general manager at the Sheffield International Venues (SIV) managed facility, said: “In celebration of the Winter Olympics we wanted to give members of the public the opportunity to come down to the venue and try something different.
“The Winter Olympics are a fantastic way of increasing interest in these particular sports and we hope offering taster sessions will inspire people to want to have a go. And you never know - we may just find a future Olympic star!”
