About the Learn to Skate Programme
The Learn to Skate Programme at Ice Sheffield promises a fun environment to learn and develop with like minded people. Approved by the National Ice Skating Association, this course is suitable for all ages and abilities and promises quality tuition from some of the finest coaches around. These structured group sessions run in a 6 week block allowing you to develop and progress through the 10 Skate UK levels at your own pace! Start by learning the basics of skating, and then as you move through the levels you will learn how to do a full snowplough stop, backward skating and even a spin or a jump... plus much more!
The learn to skate programme enables you to:

NEW Learn to Skate Ice Hockey for Beginners
This begins Monday 1st September for 6 weeks. Skaters MUST have a basic knowledge of forwards skating and be able to skate unaided.
Skate UK Star - This is the bridge that takes you from fun learning to the more serious side of the sport. The six week course allows you to advance in the disciplines of skating (e.g. speed, ice dance, figure and synchronised). Pass your Gold Award and you could move up to the 'elite' category, starting with the Academy!
The Academy - For enthusiastic skaters who wish to pursue a competitive career in ice skating and train on a regular basis with our resident highly qualified coaches. The Academy offers a large range of activities such as participating in competitions, tests, shows, galas and intensive skating camps. The Academy is structured to allow all skaters the opportunity to develop their skating skills in an organised and logical fashion with a view to participating at the highest levels within the sport. Both group and private coaching is available to ensure the best possible progress for all skaters.
Private Lessons - Each coach offers private one-to-one lessons which are scheduled and paid for directly with the coach. Private lessons, depending on skating level, may be taken on the public session or private patch ice as appropriate can also be taken on private patch ice. From £7.00 for 15 minutes, plus ice time.
Patch Ice - Ice Skaters can book patch sessions without coaching for £4.00 per one hour session (No hockey boots allowed). Skaters must have NISA Level 1 to use patch ice. Terms and Conditions apply. Please ask at reception for more details.

Bookings & Enquiries
Prices (per 6 week course) - £42 - Skate UK Star, £39 - Adults, £33 - Juniors (up to 16 years). Skate hire is charged at £9.60 for the 6 week course (if required)
Dates The next block of lessons will start the week commencing Monday 1st September 2008. Lessons will run for a 6 week block.
PLEASE NOTE THAT DURING THE WEEEKS OF 15th SEPTEMBER AND 13th OCTOBER THAT LESSONS WILL NOT TAKE PLACE

Sales to Members - Bookings for members (anyone currently attending lessons or who has attended lessons in the past 6 months) will be taken from Monday 7th July 2008 and can be made by telephone on 0114 223 3900. You are not required to book in person. Please book early to avoid disappointment as you are not guaranteed a place. Spaces available after Monday 21st July 2008 will be offered to new customers. Sales to New Customers - Sales for new customers will open at 6.30pm on Tuesday 22nd July 2008. All bookings will be taken on a strictly first come, first served basis and must be booked in person at the iceSheffield reception desk.
Further telephone bookings for current members will only be processed after customers who have queued at the venue have been processed. If you are unable to make it to iceSheffield on Tuesday 22nd July 2008 but would like to apply for a lesson place, please contact reception on 0114 223 3900. Reception will take your details and you will be contacted on Wednesday 23rd July 2008 if your request has been successful.
Terms and Conditions of Sale - Bookings will not be taken on the first day of the new course. All lessons must be paid for upon booking. Courses are non-refundable and non-transferable. Anyone requiring skate hire must purchase a voucher for the course to claim his or her skate hire each week. The skate hire voucher must also be purchased prior to the first lesson.
